Background story: Eddie Mooney and the Grave – song by song: No.4: „Hard On My Brain“

Track 4 of 10 of the Eddie Mooney and the Grave ft Mike Rowbottom vinyl collection: „Hard On My Brain“ was recorded as a demo in one take in Manchester in late 1978, along with several other tracks and the original recording needed considerable work remastering for release. This song was often the opening number when we played live at venues such as the Russell Club- Factory and Manchester Polytechnic, with the other Manchester bands of the time, such as V2, Mick Hucknall’s Frantic Elevators, Joy Division and the Buzzcocks. Not released in the 70s, „Hard On My Brain“ appeared eventually on vinyl on the „Lost 1978 Demo Tapes“ EP on Malte Buhr’s German Still Unbeatable label in October 2019. On drums, the late Chris Fisher, guitar Mike Rowbottom and myself on bass and lead vocals.
